Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study developed a system to identify inundated buildings with high accuracy by integrating numerical flood inundation analysis and satellite image analysis. In addition, issues in estimating the amount of flood waste generated using the results of numerical flood inundation analysis were clarified. With regard to inundated building discrimination, we conducted research in Mabi-cho, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, which was extensively inundated by the July 2018 torrential rainfall, and showed that the system can detect inundated buildings with 80% accuracy, which is equivalent to conventional methods. As for the estimation of flood waste, a study was conducted for Yamagata Prefecture, which was damaged by the July 2018 torrential rainfall, and it was found that the estimated value by numerical analysis tended to be overestimated compared to the amount of flood waste generation estimated by the existing studies.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
