Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Unambiguous proof of the presence of metal nanoparticles within the Rhodium-based cuboctahedral cages were difficult to assess from dynamic light scattering (DLS) and TEM images of the Au@RhMOP and Pd@RhMOP systems. In parallel, a strategy to form colloidal gel network using rigid ditopic N-donor linkers (4,4’-bipyridine, 1,4-di(4-pyridyl)benzene for examples), instead of flexible one has previously reported, was employed successfully. Complete characterisation of the systems were performed. In particular, kinetic and mechanism of the gelation via time-resolved DLS was perform. In addition theology measures were performed to determine the mechanical properties of the gels obtained. Finally, porous properties were obtained via N2 and CO2 gas sorption measurement at 77 and 196 K respectively. This rigid linker strategy could solved the problem observed in the 3rd period report (difficulty of initiating the supramolecular polymerisation from the kinetically trapped phase of the MNPs@(MOP)(bix)12) thanks to the different reactivity of the cross-linkers.
