Outline of Final Research Achievements

A study was conducted to search for specific genes involved in the invasion of early gastric cancer using laser microdissection. At present, specimens are being collected, laser microdissection is being performed on each tumor gland duct, and genetic analysis is being performed. We have not yet been able to analyze and identify genes involved in significant invasion due to insufficient specimens (cases). We plan to accumulate more cases and continue our research to identify genes involved in invasion.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

現在までに、ESDにて治療された浸潤度別の早期胃癌のESD腫瘍組織検体で、症例を5例集積しており、目標の10例の収集まで到達できていないが、ESD適応病変の多くは、粘膜内癌であり、粘膜下層に浸潤した病変の検体をまだ十分に採取できていない。今後、さらに症例を蓄積し、粘膜下層浸潤に関わる遺伝子を同定していく予定である。同定できれば、検査の生検診断で、粘膜下層浸潤が予想できるようになり、ESD治療後の追加外科治療を要するかどうかを選択する１つの指針になることを研究目標にしている。
