Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We have completed the Research and are now in the process of publishing a manuscript, expected to be out in late 2023 or early 2024. We found mechanisms enhancing the maturation capacity of human iPS-derived cardiomyocytes by intentionally placing proliferation roadblock-related genes in a DNA-free integration way, mostly by transient up-regulation of key factors or treatment with small molecules. We generated engineered heart tissues (EHT) able to enhance contractile forces and modeling features of adult cardiac tissues. We submitted and registered a PCT application and will move the research towards clinical applications.
