Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have published one research article about the determinants of subjective well-being among Filipino senior citizens. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I could not conduct a face-to-face survey among Filipino senior citizens. The pandemic severely hits the Philippines, and senior citizens are advised to stay at home. Hence, I conducted a web survey about resilience and household food access of Filipinos during the enhanced community quarantine. We aimed to identify the factors associated with household food access in the context of a disease outbreak and investigate the association between resilience and household food access among Filipinos amid the COVID-19 outbreak. I am currently analyzing the data.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The COVID-19 pandemic causes a delay in the progress of the study. It was not easy to conduct face-to-face data collection with Filipino senior citizens. I am considering doing a web survey instead. However, considering the digital divide and lack of access of older adults with technology, I need to develop an alternative plan.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Depending on the COVID-19 situation, I might change the initial data collection plan of face-to-face interviews and carry a web survey/interviews instead.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Fieldwork has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This incurred amount will be used for traveling and hiring research assistants for the next fiscal year research plan.
