Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Electro-holography can reproduce the most physiologically natural three-dimensional (3D) image; however, the vast amount of computation has been a significant issue for practical uses. In this study, we developed a fast computation method for electro-holography specialized for reproducing 3D images consisting only of lines and succeeded in accelerating the computation rather than 3,000 times faster than conventional methods. Furthermore, we have also successfully developed a hand-drawn interactive 3D image replaying system with a pen input interface based on this computational method.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の成果では,文字や基本図形のアウトラインを3次元的に,かつインタラクティブに再生可能であるため,カーナビゲーションシステムや作業支援システム等における拡張現実の表示手法として将来的な実用化が期待できる.従来の研究の多くが写実的な3次元像の再生を目指していたのに対し,表示可能な3次元像を限定することで計算処理を合理化する本研究のアプローチは独自性が高く,得られた高速化効果に鑑みても,今後のホログラフィ分野におけるマイルストンとなりうる研究成果が得られた.
