Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have collected and analyzed the following databases required for conducting this research. (1) worldwide nutrient (micronutrient) supply database; (2) food supply database; (3) food consumption/intake database; (4) food composition table; (5) nutrient density decrease under high CO2 concentration; (6) disease burden of nutrient deficiency. Based on these databases, I analyzed the impact of high CO2 concentration (550 ppm in 2050) on nutrient deficiency of Chinese adult population. Protein, iron, and zinc intake were found to reduce by 2.17-4.75% and the prevalence of deficiency would increase by 1.35-4.42%. It also revealed a significant disparity among income groups: nutrient loss rates for the lowest-income group were 1.37-1.54 times greater than the highest-income group.

Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Data required for this study has been collected and analyzed for future model construction. In addition, minor modules for the analysis has been developed.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Next stage is the scenario development and model experiment of high CO2 concentrationi impact at global scale.
