Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, research and fieldwork was delayed during 2020 and the first half of 2021. This has delayed the submission and publication of academic research, as well as presentations at conferences.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Despite the delay, the researcher has proceed with the submission of the two academic articles. One of them is already under review in the Journal of Tourism and Cultural Change, and it is expected to be published during FY2022. A second academic article will be submitted at the Sacred Journeys 9th Conference and intended to be published at the International Journal of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage during FY 2022.
The researcher will also expose it research results to officials from the Wakayama Prefecture on June, in order to share results with local stakeholders and bring tangible benefits to local tourism policies.
Finally the researcher is expected to presented its research at conferences such as Sacred Journeys 9th during FY2022.

Causes of Carryover |
Buy research materials such as books and academic articles, conferences fees, travel fees and accommodation fees. Equipment may be bought if necessary. The reason for this expenses will be to complete the proposals stated in the research projects.
