Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to reconsider the results of the Wajishoransho from the viewpoint of academic continuity. And it clarified it in practice. We have compiled basic information on the Wajishoransho by inputting data on the words, their annotations, sources, etc. The same process was also carried out for the preceding kana-usage books (Ruiji Kana-zukai and Shoshin Kana-zukai), and a comprehensive comparison and analysis of the Wajishoransho and the preceding kana scripts was conducted. The results of our research revealed that 922 words in the Ruiji Kana-zukai and 353 words in the Shoshin Kana-zukai match the 2,040 words in the Wajishoransho. In addition, when we look at the words for which no authority is given in the Wajishoransho, we find 504 words in the Ruiji Kana-zukai and 231 words in the Shoshin Kana-zukai that match, which is about 60% and 28% of the words for which no authority is given, respectively.
