| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the last fiscal year (August 2020 - March 2021), my research targets were
[1] to conduct a pilot and baseline survey in Vietnam
[2] to attend an international conference
[3] to get one publication at SSCI journal with impact factor
In general, these targets were not achieved completely due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The pilot and baseline survey in Vietnam were postponed to July 2021. However, I successfully got one publication in "World Development" (SSCI journal, Q1 in Economics and Development Studies). I also presented a study at the 60th Western Regional Science Association (WRSA) Annual Meeting (virtual meeting). In addition, I was invited to present a research at the Social Science Japan Data Archive (SSJDA) Seminar of the University of Tokyo.

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the pilot and baseline survey in Vietnam were postponed to July 2021.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In this fiscal year (April 2021-March 2022), my research targets are
[1] to conduct a a completed field experiment in Vietnam (baseline survey, intervention, and endline survey)
[2] to attend an international conference
[3] to submit a manuscript to a SSCI journal with impact factor
The field experiments and household surveys will be conducted from July to September 2021. Data analysis will be completed by December 2021. I will submit a manuscript to an international conference and to a SSCI journal by February 2022.

| Causes of Carryover |
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the field experiments and household surveys in Vietnam were delayed from 2020 to 2021.
Thus, the remaining budget will be mainly used for conducting field experiments and households survey.
