Outline of Final Research Achievements |
During this study period, I have researched the following two topics. First, I traced the features of contents and the editorial organization of the educational magazine "Iwate Gakuji Iho," which was published from January of the Meiji Era in the year 18 to February of the Taisho Era in the year 12. Secondly, I researched descriptions of local languages in "Iwate Gakuji Iho" from the end of the Meiji Era to the Taisho Era. Then I analyzed the evolution of educators' discussions about local languages. Gradually, the tendency toward a standard language becomes stronger as time goes by but also it can be seen that the teachers listened to the children's native dialect while guiding them so that their own thoughts could be clearly communicated to others.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
