2020 Fiscal Year Research-status Report

Simultaneous measurement of liquid film thickness and temperature by fluorescent anisotropy

Research Project

Project/Area Number 20K22400
Research InstitutionTokyo University of Science

Principal Investigator

Jain Puneet  東京理科大学, 工学部機械工学科, 研究員 (50886215)

Project Period (FY) 2020-09-11 – 2022-03-31
KeywordsAnisotropy / Liquid film thickness
Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Till now, the problem with the anisotropy measurements in the lab is the instability. Now this problem has been solved, by nitrogen bubbling, the values of measured anisotorpy is nearly same.

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

Before going to the main project, I worked on the instability issue of the anisotropy measurements.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

Now I have started the measurement of liquid film thickness. Hope to get good results soon.

Causes of Carryover

Due to COVID-19, I could not physically come to Japan as the borders were sealed. I was guiding students online from my home country. I came to Japan in the mid of December. Then I joined the lab in January 2021 because I had to quarantine myself for 15 days.
Now, I have joined the lab physically and doing the experiments physically and using the budget properly. I also have to attend conferences in this year. So I think I can use the budget properly in this fiscal year.
