Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Currently, optimization of the differentiation and culture and hiPSCs-derived HSCs is being performed. More specifically, culture of the cells on oxygen-permeable membrane in the different conditions that are to be tested has been successful. In the current state, while the differentiation process of HSCs poses no issue, we are looking into improving its efficacy to facilitate screening in different conditions. Culture of the hepatocytes and hiPSCs-derived LSECs are already performed routinely in our laboratory. The stimulation of coculture models for disease modeling was independently tested in our laboratory and seems to pose no problem with our cellular components.

The project has started upon granting 6 months ago and is going though with the adjustments usually required in the setup phase.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The optimization of the cellular components is planned to be done by the end of summer. Establishment of the coculture model will be done during fall and winter 2021. Disease modeling with our cellular components was confirmed this year and drug screening will be done once the coculture model is established.
