Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
PAHs are of great concern because of their widespread occurrence and toxic effects on the ecosystem and human health. This research study aims to evaluate the PAHs,oxy-PAHs, and their derived toxicant levels, changes, and effects on human health in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Sapporo is the main city in Hokkaido and Hokkaido on a remote island. where the aerosol samples were less studied for carcinogenic substances such as PAHs. Moreover, there is a significant increase in the temperature in the Hokkaido region over the past years, which may lead to decreased precipitations,(www.data.jma.go.jp) and increased melting of polar ice caps. Currently, TSP aerosol samples have been collected over Sapporo and seasonal variation in PAH is studied.
