Research Abstract |
Unknown VOC that may contribute for the production of oxidants were investigated by laser based OH reactivity technique. Possible sources of unknown VOCs considered were either biogenic VOC (BVOC), vehicular exhaust, or oxygenated VOC (OVOC). Using photochemical chamber, unknown OH reactivity was estimated to be 40% and 75% in the oxidation products of isoprene and p-xylene, respectively. The instruments for the HO2 and NO3 reactivity measurement were successfully developed. Predominant candidate for missing reactivity of OH were concluded to be both BVOC and OVOC.
