Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では図形やパターンの変動を記述する重要な非線形偏微分方程式に対し、必ずしも微分可能とは限らない解の複雑な変動や性質を解明するとともに、さまざまな数学モデルの関係を明らかにするために、粘性解析、変分解析、漸近解析、変分解析、確率解析を深化させてきました。また、結晶成長分野など関連分野への応用を目指すだけではなく、複雑な現象を図形の変動ととらえ、従来つながりのなかったとされる分野への応用の可能性を探索してまいりました。具体的には次のテーマに取り組みました。
(1) 形態変動解析に適した新たな解概念の定式化:これについては、ファセットをともなう結晶成長のような特異拡散方程式について大きく進展させられました。また平均曲率流方程式のバリフォールド解の概念を一新しました。
(2) 解の挙動の解析:1階微分方程式のハミルトン・ヤコビ方程式について、いろいろな設定の下でその長時間挙動の解析に成功しました。
その他、離散モデルと連続モデルの相互関係の解析、次元の効果の解析、科学技術諸科学分野からの問題探索を行ってまいりました。特に、この研究を始めた当初は予想していなかったデータ分離に熱方程式を用いる方法など、諸科学分野とのかかわりで新たな成果を上げることができました。
本年度は最終年度で、別に詳しい報告書が公表される予定です。なお、この研究を基に、さらに高次元化、高階化を狙った研究課題「特異構造が支配する非線形現象の高度形態変動解析」が採択され、本研究はさらに大きく花開くことになると思います。
