Research Abstract

化合物半導体を上手に劈開すると原子レベルで平坦な表面が得られる。絶縁性GaAsを劈開した表面にPbおよびInの単原子層膜を作製し、超伝導相の性質を調べた。我々のこれまでの研究で、Pbの単原子層膜に対して面内磁場を印加した場合に、Pauli限界をはるかに超える強い磁場に対しても超伝導転移温度はほとんど変化しないことがわかっていたが、0.2%以下の精度で測定を行ったところ、磁場の2乗に比例してわずかに超伝導転移温度が減少することが明らかになった。この実験結果は、強いRashba相互作用をもつ2次元電子系の超伝導状態に対する理論研究において、不規則性が強い場合に予想されていた、秩序パラメーターの位相が空間変調する超伝導状態を仮定することにより説明することができた。実験結果を再現するためにフィッティングパラメーターとして用いた弾性散乱時間は、常伝導状態の電気抵抗から求めた値と良い一致を示した。また、Inの単原子層膜では、Pb単原子層膜よりも超伝導の転移温度の平行磁場依存性が強く現れた。我々は、Rashba相互作用が小さい場合に対して、理論の拡張を行い、実験結果を再現した。
