ダイナミックな大気変動観測のための三次元リアルタイムライダーの開発

Research Abstract

大気環境の速い変化を計測可能な三次元リアルタイムレーザーレーダー(ライダー)技術を世界に先駆けて開発するために、平成21年度は、ライダー用光源として新規のレーザー材料や増幅方法により従来にない高い繰り返しで動作する高出力レーザー光源の開発を開始した。
具体的には、
(1) 5つの高効率冷却基盤技術を融合した高繰り返し動作が可能な増幅部を設計し小型装置による増幅実験を行った。これにより、パルスエネルギー5mJを1kHzの高繰り返し周波数で動作させることに成功した。さらに、増幅特性と数値計算を比較することで冷却基盤技術の効果を定量的に解析し、1kHzの繰り返しでパルスエネルギー1Jが得られる増幅部を設計した。
(2) ファイバーに結合させた高出力半導体レーザーの出力光を拡大縮小光学系などを用いて空間的に均一な励起集光光学系を開発した。
(3) 上記(1)(2)を組み合わせナノ秒パルス増幅試験を行った結果、200mJの高いパルスエネルギーを100Hzの繰り返しで得ることに成功した。増幅利得、時間波形、空間ビーム形状、偏光度などレーザー特性や、Yb:YAG増幅部の温度測定と熱レンズ効果の測定から一次元熱解析モデルを構築した。
