Research Abstract |
The nucleosome is a histone octamer which is wrapped by 146 bp eukaryotic DNA. Dynamics of histones during DNA replication/repair remains elusive. We proposed here that FACT facilitates DNA replication elongation by promoting efficient pre-replicative nucleosome disassembly. Furthermore, we showed that acetylation of histone H3 on lysine 56 is required for homologous recombination.
