Research Abstract |
Rice MITE, mPing is actively transposing in genome of cultivar ‘Gimbozu’ under natural conditions. In this study, we found that (1) mPing rendered adjacent genes stress inducible, (2) mPing transposition was genetically controlled specificin Gimbozu, and (3) a loss-of-function allele of Rurm1 was useful for acquiring the genetic diversity due to mPing transpositions. These results will greatly contribute to develop the high-efficiency transposon tagging system using mPing
