Research Abstract |
Oxygen depletion imposes a challenge on fungi since oxygen serves as a substrate for respiration and for other biological processes. Our investigation using omics and biochemical approaches revealed novel adaptation mechanisms to such environment of the Aspergillus fungi. These mechanisms are considered be important for the fungal adaptation into natural environment as well as into artificial fermenting conditions.
