Research Abstract |
8-Nitroguanine was formed in Oct3/4-positive stem cells in S. haematobium-associated cystitis and cancer tissues. 8-Nitroguanine and stem cell marker glypican-3 was observed in Barrett's esophagus tissues. In conclusion, inflammation by various facters may increase the number of mutant stem cells, in which nitrative DNA damage occurs, leading to tumor development.
