| Research Abstract |
We have demonstrated the existence of a novel type of neuronal network linked by gap junctions in several brain regions. This study focused on gap junction-coupled network in layer 4 of the visual cortex and hippocampus. Morphological features newly found in these regions showed considerable diversity that may reflect differences in region-specific principles in neuronal computation.
