芳香族炭化水素の光酸化で生じる二次有機エアロゾルのエイジングに関する室内研究

| Research Abstract |
リモートな地域で観測される含酸素有機エアロゾル(OOA)はエイジングした二次有機エアロゾル(SOA)であると考えられるが、SOAのエイジングに関わる反応プロセスはよく分かっていない。初年度の研究で、われわれは、芳香族炭化水素の光酸化で生成するSOAの質量スペクトルをエアロゾル質量分析計(AMS)で測定し、芳香族分子のアルキル基の数が多いほど生成するSOAの酸化が遅れると示唆した。本研究では、芳香族炭化水素としてベンゼンと1,3,5-トリメチルベンゼン(TMB)を選び、NO_x存在下の光酸化チャンバー実験で生成するSOAを、高分解能飛行時間型AMS(H-ToF-AMS)および液体クロマトグラフ飛行時間型質量分析計(LC/TOF-MS)で分析した。H-ToF-AMSで得られるSOAのO/CおよびH/C比を用いてvan Krevelenダイアグラムを調べた。SOA中の有機物はカルボン酸あるいはヒドロキシカルボニルに富むこと、1,3,5-TMBの反応で生成するSOAのO/C比はベンゼンに比べて低いことが示された。LC/TOF-MSの分析結果は、1,3,5-TMBの反応で生成する粒子状生成物がケトカルボン酸に富むことを示していた。これらの結果は、SOAのエイジングが主にカルボン酸生成によって進むこと、ケトンの酸化がチャンバー実験でのSOAのエイジング速度を制限することを示唆している。室内チャンバー実験で生成するSOAの酸化が野外のOOAに比べて進んでいないのは、実験時間が短いというだけでなく、水溶液相で進むことが知られるケトカルボン酸の酸化をシミュレートできないためと予想される。本研究では、1,3,5-TMBの反応で生成する粒子状ニトロフェノールのSOAに占める比率が、ベンゼンに比べて低いことも新たに示唆した。
