Research Abstract |
The first tome of Marcel Proust’s A la recherche du temps perdu was published in 1913. This novel, which did not attract a great response initially and even received harsh criticism for some tomes, nevertheless established its reputation before the end of the1930s. This study clarifies some critical tendencies which allowed this change, through the analysis of journal reviews, periodical articles and literary works by various authors, relating to Proust and published from 1913 to 1939. This analysis involved the collection of1,870 articles and books and the construction of a system of data management.
