Research Abstract

(1) a. apa la-?alle(^*-i) i Baso (object fronting) what 3-take(-3) h Baso 'What did Baso take?'
b. inai la-?alle*(-i) kanre-njo (subject fronting) who 3-take(-3) food-the 'Who took the food?'
(2) a. inai la-isse? i Ali kanre-njo la-?alle who 3-know h Ali food-the 3-take 'Who did Ali know that took the food? (Finer (1994 : 174))
b. *apa la-isse? i Ali i Baso la-?alle what 3-know h Ali h Baso 3-take 'What did Ali know that Baso took?
