Research Abstract

(1)As to the promotion and the demotion of syntactic arguments of the Finnish language, a more persuasive analysis has been obtained by introducing an areal-linguistic perspective contrasting them with those of the Circum-Baltic languages.(2)
(2)A theoretical base for arguing about argument structures of verbal predicates has been established by organizing a series of seminars on this subject.
