Research Abstract |
This study, based on the empirical research on the lifestyle of Malay Muslims, reveals that the development of "Islamization" is observed not only in the Islamic religious practices but also the consumption of the Islamic goods, such as halal food and Islamic music. Furthermore, it also shows that the "Islamization" process is accelerated by non-Islamic factors, especially economic one as well as Islamic factors. These are distinguishing features of Islam in modern consumer society.
