Research Abstract |
Recent research on Japanese medieval history has argued that the social order changed structurally in 14th century. In this research, I clarified the roles played by Jitodai(地 頭代 ) and Zassho(雑掌 ), nongovernment individuals with legal knowledge and expertise, in 14th century. And I introduced some Shihai-monjo(紙背文書), documents appearing reverse side, concerning the judicial system in that era.
