Research Abstract |
This project aimed at investigating social inequality by conducting a survey. For this purpose, a mail survey was conducted in Nishitokyo city, Tokyo, based on random sampling(760 valid respondents, 64.0% response rate). Special emphases were put on job searching, job change, health, food, romance, and marriage to specify effects of social stratification on social inequality. As a result of analyses, social capital played important role, such as family members, friends, and colleagues.
