Research Abstract

We have developed an electrochemical cell having diamond plate windows for the in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction experiment during Li-ion charge-discharge processes. Using the developed cell, we have investigated structural changes of singlewalled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs) and TiO2 electrodes with Li-ion insertion/extraction. It was found that diffractions of SWCNTs lose their intensities just by immersing SWCNTs in electrolyte. On the other hand, we could observe the change in XRD pattern of Ti02(B) phase with increasing/decreasing Li content. The structures of Ti02(B) phase during Li-ion chargedischarge process were elucidated by Rietveld analyses of the obtained XRD patterns
