Research Abstract

This study aims at developing low cost bridge monitoring system for collapse detection in case of earthquakes. Recently in Japan, deterioration of infrastructure such as bridges has been a serious problem. Bridge administrative authorities have to organize maintenance management under limited budget. A prototype of bridge monitoring system employing low cost micro-computer and energy harvest with solar cell was made.
