Research Abstract |
Most of the cases of pancreatic adenocarcinoma derived from IPMN were derived from intestinal type IPMN. As for the pattern of invasion in pancreatic carcinoma, most advanced pancreatic cancers revealed a mixed replacement pattern(interlobular replacement pattern and intralobular replacement pattern) as well as a haphazard growth pattern. Entrapped normal pancreatic structures within the area of invasive carcinoma were easily and clearly identified by using triple immunostains. The distribution or the extent of such entrapped normal cells differed depending on the cases.
