Research Abstract |
We revealed that CD147/basigin promotes proliferation, invasion, and metastasis of malignant melanoma through regulating tumor cell glycolysis and regulates tumor cell adhesion to matrix through phosphorylating the focal adhesion kinase(FAK), a downstream kinase of integrin that co-localizes with CD147 on the cell surface. These findings demonstrate that CD147/basigin could be a target molecule for new therapeutic strategy for skin cancers.
