Research Abstract |
Using microdialysis technique, we examined the effects of volatile anesthetics on ischemic myocardial injury. Ischemia induced dialysate myoglobin(as one of the cardiac muscle proteins) release was suppressed by 1MAC sevoflurane or isoflurane administration before ischemia. Desipramine(cell injury-induced drug) induced myoglobin release after ischemia was augmented by 1MAC sevoflurane administration before ischemia. It suggested sevoflurane administration before ischemia attenuated myocardial injury and preserved viability.
