Research Abstract	Self-confidence for smoking cessation was positively associated with successful smoking cessation during hospitalization among inpatients who were current smokers. We conducted support program to help them stop smoking, using electronic medical chart system. However, before-after comparisons of this system did not show any differences of proportion of inpatients who smoked during their hospitalization or restarted smoking after discharge.
