Research Abstract

Homology-based methods widely used to infer a function of a gene cannot be applied to genes lacking any detectable homology with functionally or structurally characterized genes. In the present study with the aim of identifying such genes, we developed a method that does not stand on homology of a gene but instead stands on homology of its surrounding nucleotide sequences.
