Research Abstract |
This research project focuses on the interrelation between the concept of the "rule of law" that imply the restriction of state power by law, and democratization movement under the authoritarian regime which have excessively strong executive power and strictly limited political participation. This research also refers to the change of government institutions that support the rule of law since 1998. During research period, author write two articles on the legal aid movement that is an important civil society actor for democratization based on the rule of law as well as is writing an article on constitutional court as an institutional tool to restrict executive power by constitutionalism (in editing process). In relation to core researches, the author also published an article on peace-building and the rule of law in East-Timor, and made conference presentation on the rule of law in post-disaster reconstruction administration. The author is writing an article on Islamic law and national law.
