| Research Abstract |
In the “Social Market Economy” concept, the basic principle of the German post-war social and economic policy, there are three variations (types) of social policy thought to be desirable;
(1)Eucken type (emphasizing primary distribution, minimizing redistribution)
(2)Muller-Armack type (emphasizing redistribution)
(3)Erhard type (emphasizing both primary distribution and redistribution, however claiming the shift of emphasis from the latter to the former).
Through the consideration of the public pension system and subsistence benefit system it is concluded that the German current social policy is under the strong influence of the Erhard type.
