磁気多極子秩序相及びスピン液体相の理論的特徴付けと実験検出方法の提案

Research Abstract

1.近年最近接相互作用J_1と次近接相互作用J_2をもつJ_1-J_2スピン1/2鎖で記述できると考えられる擬1次元銅酸化物磁性体が、マルチフェロイクスまたはフラストレート磁性体として活発に研究されている。特に最近の理論解析によりJ_1-J_2スピン鎖に磁場を加えると磁気多極子液体状態が現れることが示された。この多極子相の秩序変数を直接観測するのは大変難しい。そこで我々は直接観測の代わりに核磁気共鳴緩和率1/T_1の磁場温度依存性に多極子相としての特徴が現れることを予言した。実際に場の理論と数値解析に基づく精密な1/T_1の計算の結果、予言の正当性を定量的に明らかにした。この1/T_1による方法は上記銅酸化物の多極子相を検出する際非常に有効であると期待できる。
2.単純なフラストレート磁性体の1つである3本鎖スピンチューブの磁化過程に注目し、特に1/3磁化プラトー状態の解析を行った。その結果、鎖間結合に歪みを加えて2等辺三角形型の結合に変えるとプラトー状態(つまりスピンギャップ)を保ちながら鎖方向にスタッガードな磁化をもつ相へ量子相転移が生じることを明らかにした。
3.ダイマー化したスピン1/2鎖の励起ギャップを数値対角化法で評価し、それを有効理論である可積分のsine-Gordon模型と比較することで、ダイマー化していない一様なスピン1/2鎖の有効理論のボソン化公式の振幅を決定する方法論を構築した。この結果や方法は様々な1次元系(スピン系、電子系、冷却原子系など)に応用可能である。
