Research Abstract |
Utilizing "transparency" of graphitic sheets consisting of single-walled carbon nanotube, single-walled carbon nanohorn and graphene in TEM analysis, we observed nanoscopic behavior of single organic molecules on chemically modified graphene sheets. This methodology provided us unprecedented information on structure and dynamic behavior of substances at molecular level, such as semistatistic conformational analysis of single alkyl and perfluoroalkyl chains, and structural elucidation of embryos in crystal growth process.
