Research Abstract |
This research examines the location and the architectural style of the hospitals in Tokyo at the beginning of the 20th century with using new historical materials. As for location, the tendency to seek the right environment for patients' treatment and the traffic access are observed. In architectural aspect, the exterior appearance was in the transition form Japanese to European. However, not a few hospitals prepared both Japanese and European patients rooms.
