Research Abstract |
Adsorbents prepared using cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) such as bacterial cellulose and microfibrillated cellulose would be beneficial for the adsorption of biomacromolecules and nanoparticles which are only adsorbed at surface adsorption sites. From the results of adsorption tests, chemically-modified CNSs bearing various functional groups exhibited higher adsorption capacities for biomacromolecules such as proteins.
