磁性ナノ粒子の精密構造制御と新規触媒機能の開拓

Research Abstract

本研究では、触媒分野では未開拓な"磁性金属ナノ粒子"に着目し、新規合成法の確立→触媒反応への応用→複合触媒の創製という一連の研究を通して全く新しい機能をもった触媒開発の斬新で画期的な方法論を提供することを目的とし、具体的に以下の研究を行った。
1) 種々の有機配位子を用いた磁性金属ナノ粒子の新規合成法の確立として、詳細な合成条件の検討、FePd、CoPt、CoPdなど他の磁性ナノ粒子への応用を行い新合成法としての確立
2) サイズ・組成・表面状態を高次制御した磁性ナノ粒子の選択的触媒反応への応用として、サイズ・形態・組成を高次制御した磁性ナノ粒子を利用した不斉炭素-炭素結合形成反応を行った。
3) 磁性ナノ粒子を核、その表面を光触媒担持シリカでコーティングしたコアーシェル型ナノ微粒子光触媒の開発および高選択的酸化反応への応用
また、反応後、上記触媒は磁石により容易に分離・回収できることを実証した。つまり、操作性、安全性、経済性を兼ね備えた新規光触媒プロセスが構築できたといえる。これまで、国内外において、磁性ナノ粒子触媒を用いた高効率触媒反応系の開発例は皆無で、その達成における波及効果は極めて大きい。さらに、磁性ナノ粒子触媒の詳細なキャラクタリゼーションにより、磁気特性・微細構造・触媒機能の、三つの諸因子の相関を明確にした。このような知見はこれまで得られておらず、触媒分野のみならずナノテクノロジーを指向する先進的なマテリアルサイエンス分野への波及効果も期待できる。
