Research Abstract |
Pathogenic bacteria express several cell wall-anchored proteins to adhere to the surface of host cell, whereas Staphylococcus saprophyticus, a uropathogen involved in urinary tract infection of young females, possesses a unique cell wall-anchored protein, UafA. In this study, we investigated the adhesion mechanism of UafA by structure analysis and biochemical assay.
