Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists (B)
We have established the "glyocogenetics" approach, which allow the manipulation of heparan sulfate fine structures at will, using Drosophila, for which sophisticated genetic techniques are available. We also found that HSPGs have important roles in synapse formation.
