Research Abstract |
Siglec-15 is one of the receptors that recognize glycans containing sialic acids, and is involved in the immune cell activation. In this study, we identified a soluble factor that induces expression of Siglec-15 on myeloid cells. We also found that the interaction between glycan ligand on tumor cells and Siglec-15 on myeloid cells induces enhanced myeloid expression of TGF-β, which is involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transition of cancer cells.
