Research Abstract |
This study shows that the feeding and growth of larval zebrafish are modified by certain wavelengths and some hormone-relating genes, which include melanin-concentrating hormone, exhibit changes in expression levels in response to certain wavelengths. Molecular cloning has identified a mammalian-type melanin-concentrating hormone receptor, which is expressed in the brain but not in the skin.
