Research Abstract |
To determine regulatory mechanisms of epithelial sodium channels by extracellular chloride, electrophysiological experiments were performed with distal nephrone epithelial cells from Xenopus larvls, A6 cells. Lowing extracellular Cl^- concentration decreased mean open time and open probability of ENaC. These results suggest that extracellular Cl^- plays a key role in control of the ENaC-mediated Na^+ reabsorption.
