Research Abstract |
Insulin stimulates glucose uptake into skeletal muscle cells. Decreased insulin sensitivity caused hyperglycemia, which increases the risk for Type II diabetes and atherosclerosis. In this study, I have shown that the PIP3 phosphatase, SKIP, modulated insulin sensitivities in the skeletal muscle.
